Based on a 3 box principle with opposing mono-pitch roofs, the largest box provides a 4 badminton court size Sports Hall also suitable and equipped for 5-a-side football, full court and practise basketball, volleyball and fencing, with the 2 smaller boxes providing a fully equipped Fitness Suite and a Dance / Aerobics Studio. The boxes are joined together by a low level roofed corridor between, mono-pitched lower roofed locker rooms and toilet / shower facilities and a Reception Area and shop frontage.
Constructed on conventional in-situ concrete pad and ground beam foundations, the building is steel framed with mono-pitched composite panel roofs and some composite wall panels to the Sports Hall walls. Elsewhere the building is constructed externally from Architectural blockwork with a small area of cedar boarding and aluminium Curtain Walling to the Reception Area. Internal finishes are painted blockwork throughout with specialist timber sports flooring in the Sports Hall and Dance Studio with vinyl or carpet in other areas.
External works are limited to a small retaining wall, paths, paved areas at Reception and basic landscaping.
